Hi! I'm Juliana and I have decided to start this blog to document my crazy life and all that it includes!
For years, my 8 year old daughter and I were cruizin' life in the slow lane. Off work at 5pm, home by 5:30pm, dinner, bath, relaxing time and all in bed by 8:30-9pm every.single.night - with the exception of Wednesday evenings when she had gymnastics from 6-7pm.
Now, as a single mom, my daughter, B, would go to her dad's every other weekend - on those weekends, I was a frequent visitors of the country bars with my girlfriends.
That was our excitement.
I was never behind on dishes or laundry. I know, I know - brag about it huh?
Fast forward, August 20, 2015 - I did what seems only the norm these days and I signed up for OkCupid! - a dating website that my friend had said would help me get back out there. I'd been out of a 4 year relationship for 1.5yr and was finally back to feeling like I could attempt to trust the other gender again.
As I was filling out my profile and uploading photos, I got a notification that my profile had been viewed by a guy. I let my curiosity get to me and I clicked on his profile. Tall, dark and handsome - with a beard....these days beards are all the rave - I'd never dated a guy with a beard. He definitely pulled off the look very well. Read through his details, father of two (again, new, never dated with kids - too much mama drama), lived in B-town (60 miles from me). Figured I wasn't his type and kept uploading my photos, until I got another notification showing he'd looked at my profile AGAIN. This time I decided to reach out and sent a fun little sassy message "You gonna keep looking at my profile or are you going to say hi?" Very out of character for me but behind the screen, I felt confident. He replied and the rest is history! We began dating, bought a house, moved in together and then he proposed on my 30th birthday in Central Park, NYC.
We have since then got married and had a sweet little baby girl, BB, she's 5 months old now.
Now...this post is about the fast lane...he warned me and I've explained the type of life my daughter and I lived previous to this relationship. Well, he has a son, C, who is now 14 years old and in select baseball and a daughter, G, who is now 11 years old and is in softball. My daughter, B, is now 11 years and has decided to take a break from extracurriculars (thank goodness) for the time being. We are always going to softball/baseball practices or games in neighboring towns. For school, I get up at 5:30am on the weeks we have G and C and take them to their mom's house to get ready for school and then get back to take B to school in our town, luckily the distance is only about 1.5hr roundtrip.
There are several nights we are not home until 9:00pm or way later and some weekends that we are only home to sleep, but I honestly wouldn't change it for the world. I'll post some of the details of our amazing wedding and honeymoon (Puerto Rico, anyone??) along with our newest venture - my husband loves me - he fully supports my crazy :)
