Hallway & Butler's Beer Pantry

I couldn't believe we found a house with a butler's pantry!
Stainless Steel Baking Surface
Glass Display Cabinet
*SIGH*

But then it's lime green.
With a black and white polka dot curtain.
Mmmmk.

And a random board - is this holding our house up??
Eh - what's the risk? Walls collapse?
Spoiler Alert: It didn't 😃

I painted it Tower Bridge to flow from the kitchen.
It holds my punch bowls and china.
And the drawers hold koozies and board games haha
P.S. I call it our Beer Pantry because opposite this beautiful masterpiece
is the ugliest beer fridge with brewery stickers all over it 😂
It also used to have a swinging door...but it fell. 😢

HALLWAY!!!
My daughter in her walker - this is the race track to her.

Lime green & turquoise.
Deer head.
Brass 3 Foot Tall Chandeliers (BUY THEM PLEASE)

Not going to lie. 12' ceilings.
They are freaking tall. I'm only 5'3.
This means to reach the ceiling, I have to stand
on the next to last step!
So for about 2 months, this wall was painted up to 6' lol

I cannot get over the dark wood trim against the white.
Makes my heart soar!

Please disregard my leftover spiderweb from Halloween decorations
I couldn't reach it LOL

Cat Photo Bomber - Pennywise my October Kitty

Still have lots of work to do
Lots of artwork/pictures to hang
New lighting FOR SURE!

Master Bathroom

Did you think you were in a mental institution?
When I first saw this picture - I was like WHOA!
But then I realized it was the before...before MY before.

Here's my before -
No shower | Child size pedestal sink | No mirror
Weird layout...oh and if you don't shut the door, any passer-bys in the hallway
can see you on the lou!
And the "distressing" on the white trim? Ew.
Honestly, in person, it looked like a kid played with poop in here....

This room is still in progress. I didn't have the ladder.
Then I ran out of paint.
So it's in progress.

I have to finish painting the trim and walls
I am going to repaint the floor and stencil.
I have shelves to hang up and need to get towel racks lol

Our closet. I installed two bars and it worked perfectly.
M keeps his folded clothes in the left cabinet and then my bathroom towels and
random necessities are in the right cabinet. Bottom right drawers don't have knobs yet so we can't open them lol

This room has a Phase 2 as well.

This wall will house a double vanity with antique mirrors.

Something like this.

I plan on moving the toilet to where the pedestal sink is.

Keep coming back! I move a little slow but next post is Butler's Pantry and Hallway.
Then I'll post a full inspiration only post since you'll be all caught up on current projects.

Parlor to Nursery

When we were house hunting, it had to have at least 5 bedrooms and a space for M to have "man space".
I needed bedrooms for all of my kids.
Here we got a 5 bedroom house with a parlor right off the master bedroom.
In our old house, we got blessed to have a master bedroom with a sitting room right off of it which we used as nursery. With our youngest still being under 1, I wanted her close by.
All the other bedrooms were upstairs.

Enter the Parlor.
Right off the living and master bedroom
No Closet
Non-Working Coal Burning Fireplace

This room was actually our storage | box holding | furniture holding
room for like the first month LOL - we had just moved in and so the baby stayed in our room.
Until she wouldn't go to sleep anymore.

As you can see - this room had a coal burning fireplace.
It didn't work and was already falling apart.
M and C loved being manly and demoing it.

Then they shiplapped over it.
I attempted to paint it white but it didn't work.
This room will be painted Behr Tower Bridge
probably January 2019 lol

This weekend I finally spent time in here and got her room
all arranged and things on the wall!

Her room is ultimately Facebook Marketplace

Modern Farmhouse Living Room

We have a large family.
For those of you who read the first post on this blog, you know I went from a mother of 1 to a mother of 3 and then 4 - it's a circus and these are definitely my monkeys.

We needed a big house. We needed a larger living room.
Here - you'll see the living room we used to pile up in.
It was a beautiful dreamy cozy living room.

With a 14 yr old boy, two 11 year old girls,
and a 11 month old baby girl - we needed more space all around.
Enter current living room.
The walls had caulk in them and were a beautiful 12' tall.
I love the raw shiplap but all this white caulk was bleh.

We sold the Gothic Revival UFO light fixture - I'm still shopping for the replacement - and we painted two of the four walls.

After hunting for the perfect rug, we are about 75% complete with this room.
We will be adding shelves on the entire TV wall and then I have to hang LOTS of things up!

You'll see my mantle - it was a rescue from the parlor (up next!)
I don't have a fireplace but a girl can't live in a house without a mantle...
hello - Christmas decorations!

Items in Room:
Rug - Facebook Marketplace $40
Couches - Rooms to Go (matching recliner)
Brown Chair - Free off Marketplace
TV Stand - old desk $25 garage sale

Heart of the Home

We moved in June 8, 2018
Texas in June = 108 degrees
This house had NO AC!!
M is in the business, so he had strings he could pull.
The first weekend we had AC in the downstairs and two weeks later, we had AC upstairs.
July our electric bill was $397 - HAHA nope

First on my project list was the black kitchen.
I found photos from before it was black - it wasn't any better lol

This is how we bought it. If it wasn't so even, you'd have thought the kitchen had caught fire.
No appliances. Black flooring. "Tuxedo" cabinets done poorly.
FYI - Facebook Marketplace can be your best friend.
Dishwasher & Stove $400
Fridge $750

Even with 3..yes 3 light fixtures - two ceiling fans (4 out of 8 bulbs work 😑) and a boob light
The room was too dark - besides...a black heart?

I follow a lot of farmhouse pages on Facebook and had fallen in LOVE with Behr Venus Teal.
While I was at Lowes, I saw the swatch for Tower Bridge and decided to get samples of both.
Figured I'd show M and see what he though - sometimes he gets a vote 😂

Behr Tower Bridge

Walls Painted | New Dishwasher
Cabinets Not Touched Yet lol

Cabinets that ugly cannot stick around for too long...

Fridge & Stove!

90% Complete with Phase 1
Phase 2 Inspiration at the bottom 😍

The door fell and the glass shattered.
We will be removing this door and retrofitting
a chalkboard in the space!

Free Facebook Marketplace Chairs

Phase 2
Some day...when I'm rolling in the big money, I will gut this kitchen!
My plan is to remove all cabinets.

This wall will house the stove in the middle with floating/open shelving on each side.
We will hopefully have pretty dishes by then LOL
I'll do a base cabinet on each side to house pots and pans.
We will run the vent-a-hood through the wall and out through the laundry room exterior wall

We will do a middle island with sink/dishwasher and barstools

A bit like this

The wall where the stove and fridge are now will just be open and simple.
We are discussing putting the fridge inside the pantry
I'll put a small coffee bar along the far wall.

Hope you like our kitchen and our plans :)
More to come!! So much more!!
